Personal information:

Born April 15. 1919 in Bad Neuheim.

Pilot Career:

He was trained at Stolp-Reitz, rank FFS. Ref. Prien.

2. Aug. 1940 he joined II./JG 77 in Norway Staffel 5./JG 77. Ref. Prien.

On 13. Aug 1940 he paticipated in the defence of Aalborg-West, Denmark where 12 Blenheims were shot down. He is not recorded for any kills. Ref. Jes Touvdal.

23. Oct. 1940. "Bf 109 E1 5011 Gefr. Heinr. Brunsmann (F) 5. JG 77 Black 8+- Emergency landing Vrnes 10 %" Ref: Special Interest Group Luftwaffe in Norway.

9. Nov. 1940 he left Norway with II./JG 77 staffel 4./JG 77. Ref. Prien

22. Apr. 1941 he made a forced landing with his Black 8 at Almiros, Greece.
Here the The aircraft was camouflaged in standard 71/02/65 colours with the Blue 65 on the fuselage covered first with 02, but leaving areas of 65 visible particularly around the markings, followed by a fairly heavy application of Green 71. The emblem is the 'seeadler' (Sea Eagle) badge of II./JG77. Looking at the picture it seems that the Cowling is painted yellow.

At some time he were transferred to a medical unit in Luftflotte 4, flying Fi 156 Storch, Lfl 4. Ref: Roba
3. Dec. 1943 he were shot down and wounded, Lfl 4. Ref: Loss report, Roba.
He were hspitalized until the end of hostilities.	 	 	 	
Gefr. Heinrich Brunsmann survived the war. Ref: Roba.
